Umbria is a thousand-faced land, from nature to arts, from history to flavours.
This precious corner of Italy with ever green nature, enchanted, bright, offers wild woods sceneries, towns for which the concept of “old town” is too small, because of their wide assortment of monuments and pieces of art.
In describing Perugia, one gets lost among the great number of architectural works and art treasures, from the Etruscan walls to the wonderful Palazzo Gallenda, site of the prestigious foreigners University, to the many buildings and historical monuments starting from Piazza IV Novembre, such as the Fontana Maggiore and the magnificent Palazzo dei Priori.
Very fascinating are the surrounding towns, such as Gubbio, rich in witnesses of Francesco d’Assisi and monuments from the Middle Age and the Renaissance; Todi, Spello, Spoleto, sites of old magnificence. Orvieto, Città di Castello and many other little towns, all of them made precious by monuments, palaces, churches of great artistic value. Assisi, native town of Saint Francesco, whose cathedral represents one of the most renowned targets for Christian pilgrimages.
Umbria hosts also great music and society events: Umbria Jazz Festival, Festival of Spoleto, Festival delle Nazioni and the Sagra Musicale Umbra ; and moreover, it offers sports in touch with nature, first of all golf.
