The Badia di Morrona lies halfway between Pisa and Volterra, in the heart of lands once walked by the Etruscans, and at a short distance from the village of Morrona. The countryside surrounding this ancient monastery is that of a picture postcard made up of wide valleys, rolling hills planted with the Company´s own vines, olive trees and dense woodland. Guests can stay here in the company of excellent wines and immersed in local history at just a few minutes from the spa town of Casciana Terme where well being and nature are in perfect harmony, and nearby to the village of Terriciola. The Badia di Morrona is within easy reach of the historical cities of Florence , Siena , Pisa , with its international airport, and the golf courses at Castelfalfi and Tirrenia.
The ancient monastery belonging to the Estate still holds its original charm with a stunning courtyard, partly restored, a bell tower and it´s historic wine cellar or ‘barricaia´. The farmhouse buildings on the Estate have been carefully restored in complete respect of traditional Tuscan architecture and converted into agriturismos all carefully furnished with original, antique furniture and all the latest modern comforts swimming pools. The various agriturismos cater for all requests – from the possibility of bed and breakfast at ´La Selvicciola´ to apartments at ´La Sughera´ and ‘ La Fornace ´ and the villas at ‘Sant´Angiola´ and ´La Vivaja´.
Our agriturismos are open all year and during the winter offer guests the possibility of hunting on the Estate´s game reserve. The magic and beauty offered by the Monastery, where weddings can be celebrated, and the various villas are the perfect backdrop for all special occasions.
