This totally flat course winds along the shores of the Staffora river at the mouth of Staffora valley not only renowned for its green hills but also abounding in mushrooms and game. The course is dominated by the Nazzano castle and affords golfers a magnificent, romantic panorama. Though not particularly demanding, the 9 holes are surrounded by numerous traps, including an artificial lake which involves 3 of them, thus making holes 3 and 6 particularly tricky. The par 3 greens, cleverly protected by numerous bunkers, are extremely challenging. Play on hole nine, referred to as “hell’s corner” is particularly animating on account of its entire length (350 mt) being flanked by an enormous red sand (hell) hollow planted with poppies and bulrushes. In fact, this area of the course is reminiscent of parts of Arizona.
