The Cansiglio Forest, one of the most uncontaminated and beautiful in Italy, is situated at an altitude of about 1000 metres between the provinces of Treviso, Belluno and Pordenone. The varying shape of its mountains of karst origin, consisting of dolines and deep swallow holes, its rich and varied fauna and its magnificent flora, offer visitors endless emotions. The Cansiglio Golf Club is set within these idyllic surroundings and was founded more than 50 years ago by a group of forward-looking golf enthusiasts who entrusted the design of the first 9 holes to the architect, John Harris in the knowledge that this magnificent course would be built in perfect keeping with the lie of the land. In 1999, based on a design by the architect, Marco Croze, the course, though retaining the spirit of its original design, was enlarged to an 18 hole, par 71. A highly, varied, pleasantly demanding mountain course which, according to many, is one of the most beautiful in Europe.
