Based on a project by the British Firm of architects, Cotton & Sutton, the Golf Club Bergamo was officially inaugurated in 1961.The course is set against a charming backdrop of lawns and age-old trees, at the foot of the Orobica hills which precede the Alpine range, where golf, nature and culture meld as one thanks to the numerous opportunities of the nearby art city of Bergamo, its surrounds, its valleys and the wide offer of tourist complexes and hotels.
Following the inauguration of its last nine holes, completed in 1987, the Golf Club Bergamo “L’Albenza” now boasts a 27 hole course of a highly renowned technical and architectural level. Over the years, national and international, professional and amateur golf competitions, have been played here including the noteworthy 53rd Open d’Italia, a leg of the European Men’s Tour, played in 1966.
